Privacy Policy

At Pybites we love to keep things challenging but not when it comes to your personal information. In light of the GDPR regulations, we’ve written a clear Privacy Policy outlining how we handle your data.

Information We Hold

We only hold information that you intentionally provide us.

  • Email and first/last name, either provided by you or retrieved from GitHub or Google if these login options are used.
  • Posts you make on the exercise forums.
  • All code you submit using the “Save and Verify” button when completing Bites is saved. We only store the last 5 successful and 5 failed commits, not all historical commits. If you're a coaching client (PDI / PDM programs), then coaches can access your Bite code submissions.

Usage of Your Information

Here’s how we use the information captured:

  • Your confirmed email address (and when used, your GitHub or Google email) is used to contact you regarding updates to the Pybites platform and our products, as well as general communication.
  • Your username will be displayed on forum posts you make (or that were imported from the original platform on codechalleng.es).
  • Your Bite code is saved so that tests can be run against it using AWS infrastructure. It is stored to allow you to return to the Bite later without losing progress.
  • Email messages sent through the platform are stored in a log for reference.

Please note: Any information you provide as part of a Stripe transaction when purchasing a subscription is subject to Stripe’s privacy policy.

Deleting Your Data

If you wish to delete your data, simply email us requesting the deletion of your email address and name (if recorded).

Requesting Your Data

To request a copy of your data, email us.

Data Protection Officers (DPOs)

In compliance with GDPR, we take responsibility for data protection. Consider both of us your DPOs:

  • Julian Sequeira
  • Bob Belderbos

Contact us via email or send us a message on Circle: Bob / Julian.

Further Information

If you need any further information on how we collect and use your data, feel free to email us.
